Tottenham Hotspur risk missing out on Tim Steidten with London rivals West Ham United now interested in him.
West Ham United could turn to Tim Steidten as a replacement for director of football Mark Noble.
That is according to a report from 90Min, who claim that West Ham are going through a very thorough process.
Noble only came in as director of football this season but is now expected to ‘transition into a slightly different role’.
That means West Ham are looking to bring in a replacement and Steidten is one of the options.
Steidten parted ways with Bayer Leverkusen back in March after serving as the sporting director of the Bundesliga club.
A move to the Premier League could now be on the cards for Steidten with West Ham eyeing a move.
Tottenham Hotspur could miss out on Tim Steidten
Tottenham are already reeling from today’s news that Arne Slot is staying at Feyenoord rather than moving to North London.
Missing out on a manager is a huge blow but Spurs could also miss out on Steidten.
The London Evening Standard reported lats week that Steidten is a prime contender to become the club’s new director of football.
The news caused shock in Germany; The Telegraph reported that sources indicate real surprise that Steidten was wanted by Tottenham, feeling that he is better suited to an administration role.
West Ham seemingly think that Steidten can be a transfer guru though and are now lining up a move of their own for the German.
This is particularly interesting given claims that Tottenham are trailing in the race for Steidten.
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported on Tuesday that Tottenham do want Steidten, but two Premier League rivals are ‘more advanced’ with their move for him.
One of those could well be West Ham with the Hammers looking to add to Tottenham’s misery.
